It’s hard to even tell how serious the problem is drinking alcoholism. It would be no exaggeration to say that millions of people around the world die every year because of problems related to alcoholism in one way or another. Every third death, according to inexorable statistics, is caused by it. But unfortunately, people don’t want to fight this problem actively enough. Often they’re satisfied that it’s the way it is.
Where does that lead to? It’s just that the problem is getting worse. Normal, moderate enough alcoholism develops into severe, poisonous. And it’s completely unclear what to do with it. Alcoholics are a huge part of our society, and unfortunately, there is no way to change this situation yet. But you can at least try to understand this problem, what it is and what to do with it. And then there is a chance that the fate of another drunkard will not be so sad.
Common features and classification
It is common to say that a person has gone to sleep if he drinks without stopping for a long time (days and weeks). That is, drinking is a condition that develops against the background of intoxication of the body, when a person takes excessively long and excessively large amounts of alcoholic beverages. Many people think that singing is something unambiguous – a person says, drinks and drinks, what is there to understand. But in reality, there are at least two types of this phenomenon:
- pseudo drunkard;
- true drunkard.
In the first case, it doesn’t take that long and isn’t so frightening. Usually, the person is affected by some external circumstances that put him in a state that makes him start drinking. He drinks for a while, but then other circumstances may induce him to stop drinking with the same probability. Often people go into such drunkenness on weekends, trying to relax after a hard and exhausting week at work.
It’s different when true singing starts. It’s already a heavier thing that can lead to very negative consequences. Here a person drinks not for any pleasure, but just not to feel bad. If he can stop for a while, he is again irresistibly attracted to alcohol. An alcoholic can’t control himself, and at any breaks he starts to break down.
Another classification of binge alcoholism is divided into three stages, which largely determine the severity of a person’s condition:
- Stage one. A man just doesn’t have much control over how he drinks. He tries to drink at every opportunity and even when he is alone, but it is still real to get him out of this state.
- Stage two. He starts withdrawal syndrome – after drinking he wants to drink again, otherwise his condition will deteriorate negatively. A person starts to gradually fall out of society, beginning to degrade more and more. Drinking can last for weeks. It becomes very, very difficult to bring a person out of such a state.
- Stage three. And this is a very difficult stage, at which it is simply not possible to get a person out of this state without professional help. The damage to the internal organs begins. A person falls out of society almost entirely. There’s not much chance of recovery left.
If a person manifests this kind of alcoholism, regular drinking does not go away and he gets worse and worse, it is necessary at least to try to get him out of this state. Personally, he can rarely do that. And sharp refusal of alcoholic drinks will only lead to mental disorders. So, in order to get him out of this condition, to cure alcoholism, to remove alcoholic drunkenness – it is necessary to consult specialists in appropriate clinics.
Of course, poison alcoholism is a real ulcer on the body of our society. But it is important to remember that the path to harmony and wellbeing begins with each of us. If you personally have problems with drinking alcohol, you should make every effort to change it, so that the problem does not take over. It is much harder when the problem is not personal to you, but to someone you know. Then it can really be exceptionally problematic in principle to persuade them to take over and try to deal with the problem that spoils their lives.
But you shouldn’t give up. To any person you can certainly find some approaches, find some methods of influence that will be highly effective. And then the person will certainly appreciate your participation, because to overcome the problem personally may not be so easy. Remember all the perniciousness of alcoholic beverages, and then you are unlikely to have a real incentive to use them. After all, it is much better to stick to the healthiest way of life than to put your life in danger for no real reason. And then alcoholism, including drinking, will not be scary for you.
